My current service offers support and guidance in tackling any aspects of a persons experiences that may impact on their daily level of functioning. These experiences can be due to:
Addictive behaviours & Poor lifestyle choices ~ Do you find that your lifestyle choices are impacting on how you want to be and what you want to achieve? ~ Do you spend too much of your hard earned money of cigarettes, alcohol, gambling or other addictive pursuits? ~ Are your lifestyle choices having a negative impact on your family and friends?
Shyness and social anxiety - Self esteem "I dread going to places where I may have to talk to people" "I always worry that I am going to say or do the wrong thing and that I will be laughed at" "No one else seems to be like this, there must be something wrong with me"
Shyness and social anxiety are problems that can affect men and women. Most of us will experience this kind of anxiety at some stage of our lives, however, for some it can be more serious and their only way of coping is avoidance.
Mood disorders where they are experiencing a difficulty in functioning on a day to day basis: ~ Have you have been or are currently experiencing emotions and feelings that leave you feeling sad, guilty or upset? ~ Have you lost interest in things that you would normally enjoy? ~ Are you crying all the time, or unable to cry and express your feelings appropriately? ~ Do you feel alone and isolated even in company? ~ Are you uncharacteristically angry and irritable? ~ Do you notice physical sings such as tiredness, restlessness, poor sleep pattern, changes in appetite and weight changes? ~ Have you noticed a reduction in your confidence and self esteem? ~ Do you feel gloomy and/or experience feelings of foreboding? ~ Do you have trouble with your motivation and levels of concentration? ~ Do you experience trouble making decisions?
If you notice any of the above you may be experiencing low mood or depression
Anxiety and panic - Stress related symptoms & Stress management ~ Do you experience any of the following for extended periods of time? ~ Chest feels tight and painful ~ Tingling or numbness in toes or fingers ~ Stomach churning and butterflies ~ Need to go to the toilet excessively ~ Jumpy and restless ~ Muscles tense - unable to relax ~ Sweating ~ Breathing changes ~ Dizziness - light headed ~ Blushing - feeling flushed
Do you often experience frightening thoughts? Such as: "I'm going to have a heart attack" "I will collapse or faint" "I'm running out of air - I can't breath" "I'm going mad" "I'm choking" "I'm going to be sick" "I'm losing control" "I'm going to make a complete fool of myself" "I've got to get out of here"
Some people avoid certain situations due to some or all of the signs and symptoms listed. This can lead to great inconvenience to themselves, also to those close to them such as friends and family.
Anger management ~ Anger or flashes of rage ~ Irritability ~ On edge - uptight ~ Snappy ~ Shouting and arguing ~ Hitting/lashing out ~ Verbal attacks
Do you think that you can do little to control episodes of rage and anger?
In addition I offer follow up sessions looking at: ~ Identification of early warning signs ~ Identification of triggers ~ Relapse prevention
